Riots just Dem ploy to destroy current gov't

During the 2016 campaign I said the Democrats would continue fomenting trouble and would always bedevil Republicans with newly contrived issues to keep them on the defensive, and I was right. Complete control of the government is wasted on them.

Republicans seem not to understand that the riots are a contrivance and didn’t just start with Charlottesville. The “Occupy Wall Street” protests were pure anarchy of one origin, while the Willy Grey, Eric Garner, Trayvon Martin and the Michael Brown riots was more anarchy of a different sort, which needed a flashpoint and those witless idiots supplied the fuel. Most of them are dead.  They must have had a death wish.

Since the Charlottesville riot, Democrats believe they have a means now for taking down Civil War statues which they say infuriate them so much. But why didn’t they say something years ago?

As grievous as it may be to many people, it’s none of the above. It’s simply a Democratic vehicle to destroy this government.

On the local scene, I think Keith Rivers should find a better role model than Angela Merkel, who has absolutely no moral standing as a preacher of virtue seeing as how she represents a country that systematically murdered 6 million Jews in the recent past.

For leadership I always check to see how Councilor Michael Brooks stands on the issues. I think he has it right by saying there should be no statues, flags or any other depictions glorifying anyone or anything but America. That means all of the streets, libraries, schools, bridges, tunnels, parks and hospitals, etc., which were renamed for Martin Luther King must be returned to their former name. All statues and plaques to civil rights leaders in public places must be removed. It’s only right!

I think it’s only reasonable that Elizabeth City City Council should draft a letter to House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi to get her input on the question of monument removals. It was her father, the late Thomas D’Alesandro Jr., who, as Baltimore mayor in 1948, actually dedicated a statue to Stonewall Jackson and Robert E. Lee. You should have heard the glorious speech he made. Pelosi should know all there is to know about bigotry and hypocrisy.
