Other locations have their perceptive giants. We have seen Noam Chomsky, Richard Feynman, Carl Sagan, Suzan B. Anthony, Jane Addams, Eleanor Roosevelt, Suzanne Shank and Gloria Steinem advance our world in wonderful ways, and reflect well on those around them.

However, we have in our local area Hezekiah Brown and Holly Audette. I recently submitted a review of Dr. Brown’s book to The Daily Advance and now find that Ms. Audette has once again shared with us a level of social perception and awareness of causes that transcends national media efforts.

Her column in the Nov. 13 edition of The Daily Advance, “Political divisions now pervade everything about us” pinpoints critical causes of our current chaos. Moreover, her argument poignantly shows that our mistakes have continued through time, occurring in our past as well as now.

Sadly, she predicts correctly that we are in danger of losing aspects of our social/political nature that will harm us significantly. I urge our citizens to listen to her and to pass on the message of imminent danger to our political leaders.
