TDA headline wrong on public speech limits
Wednesday, January 17, 2018
It was very disappointing to open The Daily Advance on Sunday morning and read the following front-page headline: "City cuts public comment time limit."
As your story points out, that idea, while discussed at the recent council meeting, was not approved.
Jon Hawley is a skilled reporter who attends every council meeting. Doubtful he wrote this sloppy, incorrect headline. Please report the workings of our city council accurately. Thank you.
Editor’s note: The author is correct. The headline over the story he mentions was incorrect. City Council voted 6-2 not to adopt rules limiting speaking time for the public at council meetings. Councilors decided instead to revisit the issue at their retreat next month.
