As teacher, friend Myers touched many in her life

It is always sad to lose someone that you know, but when that someone was a close friend, the loss goes deeper.

Margaret Myers, who passed recently, was such a person. She was one of a kind. A "God broke the mold" individual. An independent thinker who would boldly speak her thoughts on any topic at anytime.

I remember during a Bible study she correctly pointed out how important women are in God’s plan. If it weren't for women where would the male Bible heroes be?

She just loved teaching and what I did not know is she taught in the oldest school in Virginia.

Each and every one of us have a wonderful opportunity to touch people during our lifetime. We can make moments count — to share joy as well as knowledge. Margaret no doubt touched many lives as a teacher but she has touched many more lives as a dear friend.

Rest well dear teacher and friend. ... You made the grade.
