Wreck victim thankful for fast help, comforting care
Sunday, February 3, 2019
On Thursday, Jan. 10, 2019 I got in a bad car wreck around noon. My side air bag went off and I was wearing my seat belt. Nevertheless, I hit the steering wheel and hurt my chest. I was in a daze and had difficulty taking deep breaths.
Four or five very nice ladies helped me. They called 911, got me an ambulance and called my husband. But more than anything these ladies comforted me by talking to me until the ambulance arrived.
The three emergency medical responders took good care of me as did the personnel at Sentara Albemarle Medical Center’s emergency room, particularly Dr. Julie E. Manly.
I’d like to say thank you to all of them as well as the police officers and firefighters who showed up and helped. Elizabeth City is lucky to have all of them.
