Adams' Deism raises doubts about his Christianity
Saturday, May 11, 2019
Many people believe that President John Adams was a Christian simply because his Deist background inspired him to ask God to ensure, when talking about future occupants of the White House, that “none but honest and wise men ever rule under this roof.”
What nonsense! Adams' Unitarian Universalism brought him much grief during his lifetime. His supposed Christianity was always suspect. Due to his converting from Congregational Puritanism to the free thinking movement of Deism which, at its core, denies the divinity of Christ, compelled Adams to deny most of the King James edition of the holy writ. In his own version of the Bible, he edited out all references to the miracles of Jesus and other material having no historical context.
As I've said many times before, none of the presidents, excepting maybe Jimmy Carter, could prove the case they were Christians in a court of law. From the record the best that can be said about Adams is that he was a moralist. The one thing he got right was his hatred for Catholicism.
If the current trends continue, all aspects of Christianity will disappear in America as soon as President Trump's term of office is over. It will be outlawed! Americans of every stripe need to always remember Romans 10:8-10 and 13. It’s so critical!
