Today there is certainly no small number of things to occupy our time. This Memorial Day weekend I know many are planning their picnics and barbecues. And there is nothing wrong with that. However, it is not the reason we have Memorial Day.

Memorial Day means just that — a day to remember. It’s to remember those who have paid the ultimate price in defense of our liberty. We must remember them, because as time goes on it can be very easy to forget.

I believe we can all pause and take some moments to reflect on our freedom, what it took to obtain, and what it’s taken to defend. Memorial Day was established to help us do just that.
