Arts of the Albemarle has rescheduled its January opening of new exhibits to Friday with its first City Sounds concert afterward.

The event was scheduled for the First Friday Art Walk last week but was canceled because of snow.

AoA is hosting an opening reception for January's featured artists from 5 p.m. to  7 p.m.

New exhibits include:

— “Undreamed Shores” by Paul Blankinship of Asheville in the Jenkins Gallery

— “Organized Chaos” metal art by Mike Boyce

— “Pens, Camera, Action!” by William Long in the 516 Gallery

The concert by PBNJ takes place from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Maguire Theatre, 516 E. Main St. Tickets are $5. Cash bar with beer, wine, and snacks will be available.

PBNJ is an Elizabeth City group that plays a variety of music genres, including 90s Rock, Motown, New Rock and Reggae. Two of the crowd favorites in their 50-plus song repertoire are “Call Me Al” by Paul Simmon and “Getting Better” by the Beattles.

The concert kicks off the new City Sounds series featuring local musicians after First Friday Art Walks.

Other scheduled concerts include:

Feb. 2 - Go Figure

April 6 - CC Ryder

May 4 - Little Dickie & the Misfits

June 1 - Bobby Plough & Los Gringos
