Kelly's Restaurant and Tavern in Nags Head has closed and plans to auction off its huge collection of memorabilia, including a copy of The Daily Advance with its coverage of President Franklin D. Roosevelt's visit to Lost Colony.

The iconic restaurant is selling hundreds of items collected over 32 years of operation on the Outer Banks, including maps of the region, bird decoys, boat models, historical photographs and neon signs. To view items go to www.facebook.com/kellysouterbanksrestaurant/

The auction takes place Saturday, Jan. 13, beginning at 10 a.m. on site at 2316 S. Croatan Highway. For information, call at 252-482-1900. The sale of restaurant equipment will be sold at an online auction on Jan. 16.
