Valentine's Day contest: Tell your story about finding 'the right one'

Everyone’s love story about finding “the right one” is different. For some couples, the attraction was almost instant. Others came to realize their feelings more slowly – sometimes after years of being apart. While the ways of finding love often differ, most people can point to a time when they realized that they had found the right man or woman.
For our annual Valentine’s Day contest this year, we are asking couples to share stories about how they came to realize they had found the right match.
We invite you to tell your story, and if you tell it well, you may be the winner of a nice Valentine prize package to celebrate with your love. The prize package includes a dinner for two at the Circle II, a dozen roses from Jeffrey's Greenworld and Florist, and a gift from the Museum Gift Shop.
The Daily Advance will be accepting entries for our “Best Valentine Story” contest starting today through Feb. 8. Entries should be between 75 and 150 words.
Our secret panel of “love experts” will determine the contest winner and the couple’s story will be shared online and in the print newspaper on Valentine’s Day.
Entries may be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org; by mail, send entries to: Best Valentine Story, News Department, The Daily Advance, P.O. Box 588, Elizabeth City, NC 27909. Entries may also be brought directly to our office at 215 S. Water Street in Elizabeth City. For questions, call 252-335-8121. Make sure to include your full name, address, phone number and email contact information.
Winning entries and runners-up will be posted online and printed in the Feb. 14 edition of The Daily Advance.
To get you thinking, here are a few questions you may want to consider when writing your entry:
*What were you and your love doing when you realized that you had found the right person?
*What did your love interest say or do that sparked that “ah-ha” moment?
*Why was what your love said or did so endearing?
*Did you express your love at that time or did you wait? Why?
*Did you have any conflicting emotions/circumstances that you had to overcome to arrive at your decision?
