KEIZER, Ore. (AP) -- Kelvin Melean hit a run-scoring single in the eighth inning to give the Tri-City Dust Devils a 4-3 win over the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes on Sunday.

Luis Asuncion scored on the play after he reached base on a walk and advanced to third on a single by Melean.

Austin Smith got Juan Rodriguez to ground out with a runner on second to end the game for his first save of the season.

Dauris Valdez (1-0) got the win in relief while John Timmins (0-1) took the loss in the Northwest League game.

Richard Amion singled three times, also stealing two bases for the Volcanoes.
