, (AP) -- Stanley Consuegra hit a run-scoring single in the first inning, leading the DSL Mets2 to a 9-6 win over the DSL Cubs2 on Wednesday.
Jefferson Escorcha allowed a run, but struck Alexander Ovalles out with the bases loaded to end the game for his second save of the season.
The single by Consuegra started the scoring in a five-run inning and gave the DSL Mets2 a 1-0 lead. Later in the inning, DSL Mets2 scored on three more plays, including a two-run double by Jeison Rodriguez.
Trailing 6-4, the DSL Cubs2 cut into the deficit in the eighth inning when Nestor Heredia hit an RBI single, bringing home Brailin Pena.
The DSL Mets2 later tacked on three runs in the eighth when Eulises Sanchez hit a two-run triple and then scored on a single by Ruben Monegro to secure the victory.
DSL Mets2 left-hander Christofer Dominguez (1-0) picked up the win after allowing two runs on six hits over five innings. Opposing starter Kelvin Feliz (0-1) took the loss in the Dominican Summer League game after giving up six runs and four hits over two innings.
Pena doubled and singled, also stealing a base for the DSL Cubs2.
