DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) -- Anthony Garcia hit a two-run home run and had two hits as the Nashville Sounds topped the Iowa Cubs 8-7 on Thursday.

J.B. Wendelken allowed a run, but struck Jason Vosler out with runners on first and second to end the game for his third save of the season.

Nashville went up 7-2 in the sixth after Garcia hit a two-run home run.

After Nashville added a run in the eighth on a double by Ramon Laureano, the Cubs cut into the deficit with five runs in the eighth inning, including a two-run double by Taylor Davis.

Nashville southpaw Eric Jokisch (3-8) picked up a quality start and the win after allowing two runs on five hits over 6 1/3 innings. Opposing starter Alec Mills (4-9) took the loss in the Pacific Coast League game after allowing five runs and five hits over 2 1/3 innings.

Chris Coghlan homered and singled twice, scoring two runs for the Cubs.

With the win, Nashville improved to 8-4 against Iowa this season.
