Kinzel leaving Currituck schools for Dare

CURRITUCK — A top administrator in the Currituck County Schools has resigned and will be taking a school administration position in neighboring Dare County.
Sandy Kinzel, assistant superintendent, submitted her resignation this week and will be working with elementary curriculum in Dare, according to Currituck Board of Education Chairman Bill Dobney.
Kinzel has worked for a number of years in Currituck, serving as a teacher and curriculum supervisor as well as assistant superintendent.
"She did a good job," Dobney said.
Attempts to reach Kinzel for comment Thursday were unsuccessful.
Also, attempts to reach Currituck Board of Education Chairwoman Bea Basnight for comment were unsuccessful.
