An 8-year-old was reportedly transported by ambulance to Sentara Albemarle Medical Center after experiencing an apparent seizure while outside at Sheep-Harney Elementary School Thursday evening.

Pasquotank-Camden Emergency Medical Service officials confirmed Friday that EMS had transported an 8-year-old from an area outside the school and that the child had been experiencing seizures when the ambulance arrived at the scene.

An ambulance transported the child to Sentara Albemarle Medical Center, according to EMS officials.

Hospital officials declined to confirm whether the child was a patient or give an update on the child’s condition without the person’s name.

City police officials declined to discuss the incident, citing the child’s status as a minor.
