HERTFORD — A little more than 1,400 Albemarle Electric Membership Corp. members will be affected by two scheduled outages in Chowan County on Thursday.
The Hertford-based electricity cooperative said in a press release Wednesday the first outage will start at 1:30 p.m. and last about a half-hour. The second outage will begin at 3:45 p.m. and last about an hour and a half.
A total of 1,468 AEMC members will be affected by the outages, which will allow emergency repairs to equipment, the cooperative said. Areas affected include Arrowhead Beach, Rocky Hock, parts of the N.C. Highway 32 corridor, the Riverton subdivision and surrounding areas, and the Paradise Road and Drummond Point areas.
AEMC officials said they hope to have the repairs completed before dark Thursday.
