Two juveniles were in police custody Thursday after they were apprehended fleeing from a vehicle they allegedly had stolen.
Barbara Morgan, a spokeswoman for the Elizabeth City Police Department, said police responded to a report of a stolen vehicle in the 300 block of North Road Street about 5:12 p.m. Thursday.
After getting a description of the stolen vehicle, officers noticed a car matching the description in the area of West Grice and South Dyer streets, near Precision Printing, Morgan said. The vehicle stopped in the alley behind Precision Printing and the two occupants jumped out and started running, she said.
Morgan said the occupants were apprehended but she did not provide details.
In response to a question, she confirmed the two people taken into custody were juveniles.
