Elizabeth City police are investigating a report of an attempted armed robbery and an assault of a man late last week, but police officials are being tight-lipped about specifics.

According to a police incident report, the man, who’s 26, states someone tried to hold him up at gunpoint at approximately 6:15 p.m. on Thursday.

The report states the man received minor injuries but doesn’t give the specific location of the incident. The report indicates police took down the man’s claim at Sentara Albemarle Medical Center.

Police spokeswoman Barbara Morgan, citing the ongoing probe, said Friday that the police department isn’t going to release additional information at this time.
