Man sought for 2nd-degree murder, other charges

EDENTON — The State Bureau of Investigation and the Edenton Police Department are searching for a man wanted on a number of charges, including second-degree murder.

Derrick Lamont Phillips is wanted on charges of robbery with a dangerous weapon and selling and delivering heroin as well as the second-degree murder charge, according to law enforcement officials.

SBI officials said anyone coming into contact with Phillips should call the agency at 252-756-4755 or dial 911 immediately.

A $1,000 cash reward is being offered for information leading to Phillips’ arrest.
