Angela Cobb has been named principal of Northeastern High School.
The appointment of Cobb, who has served as principal of Weeksville Elementary School since 2016 and has 27 years of experience in education, was approved this week by the Elizabeth City-Pasquotank Board of Education.
She succeeds Alton Campbell, who left NHS to become principal at Chowan Middle School in the Edenton-Chowan Schools.
Cobb has bachelor’s and master’s degrees in English education from East Carolina University. She also holds a master’s degree in school administration from Elizabeth City State University.
In a statement released through the Elizabeth City-Pasquotank Public Schools, Cobb expressed appreciation for those she has worked with at Weeksville.
“The staff, students and parents connected to Weeksville Elementary taught me how to be a principal,” Cobb said. “I will be forever grateful for the support, kindness and love that has surrounded me in this school since I began. I look forward to joining the Northeastern High School family and I am eager to soar to new heights with the Eagles.”
It was not clear Thursday who will take over the principal duties at Weeksville Elementary with Cobb’s departure.
A Pasquotank County man reported missing last week has been located, the sheriff's office said.
