CURRITUCK — A Moyock woman is facing felony drug charges after authorities executing a search warrant Thursday seized about 8 pounds of marijuana from her home.
Sienna Marie Gilmore, 32, of the 200 block of Shingle Landing Road, was arrested following a probe by narcotics investigators with the Currituck and Pasquotank sheriff’s offices, Currituck sheriff's spokeswoman Lindsay Voorhees said Friday.
Besides marijuana that had a street value of $12,000, investigators also seized a firearm and cash from Gilmore’s residence, Voorhees said.
Gilmore’s charges include felony maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance, felony possession of marijuana and misdemeanor possession of marijuana paraphernalia, Voorhees said.
Because Gilmore’s house is near Moyock Elementary School, she also is charged with felony manufacturing, selling or delivering or possessing a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of school property.
Gilmore was released after posting an $11,000 secured bond.
Voorhees said N.C. Alcohol Law Enforcement officers assisted in the search of Gilmore’s residence.
