CAMDEN — A utility pole fire is being blamed for a power outage that affected some 1,100 Dominion Power customers in Camden County Monday night and Tuesday morning.
Dominion Power spokesman Dan Genest said a utility pole fire around 5:40 p.m. Monday on Sandy Hook Road near the intersection with Bartlett Road caused the widespread outage.
Electric service had been restored for all customers by 4:35 a.m. Tuesday, Genest said.
“It was some sort of mechanical failure with the pole,” Genest said of the fire that triggered the outage.
