The Elizabeth City Area Convention and Visitors Bureau is seeking community input on its new strategic plan.

CVB Executive Director Corrina Ferguson said Wednesday she welcomes public input on the plan through an online, five-question survey. The deadline for survey responses is Thursday, she said.

The survey will help inform a new, five-year strategic plan that Ferguson recommended the CVB undertake in December. The plan will “allow us to focus our efforts with forethought” and be better stewards of public dollars in promoting Elizabeth City, she said.

The survey is also a requirement of becoming an accredited CVB through Destinations International, Ferguson said in an email Wednesday. The accreditation requires implementing 112 “best practices” for CVBs, and will be a year-long effort, she said.

The CVB has also approved hiring a consultant for the planning, Magellan Consulting Group, at a cost of $2,000, Ferguson said.
