Elizabeth City police are investigating a man’s claim he was robbed in broad daylight Tuesday by three people who may have been teenagers.

Sgt. Eddie Graham, a spokesman for the Elizabeth City Police Department, said the man was in the 300 block of Bell Street when he was approached by three black males who appeared to be between the ages of 14-15.

The trio demanded the man’s money, Graham said.

The man who claims he was robbed wasn’t injured in the incident, Graham said. Police received a report of the robbery at 12:13 p.m., Graham said.

The man described one of the robbery suspects as tall with a light-skinned complexion, Graham said. The suspect was also wearing a red shirt and jeans and may have had a firearm in his possession.
