Currituck Extension accepting scholarship applications

Students pursuing a college degree may now apply for 2018 scholarship opportunities offered by Currituck County Extension and Community Association.
The organization offers educational scholarships to North Carolnia youth and adults who are pursuing a college education in North Carolina. The purpose of the scholarship is to assist students in obtaining a degree at any North Carolina college, in any field of study, with priority given to those who choose a Family and Consumer Sciences related field.
Each of the five North Carolina Cooperative Extension districts award two $800 scholarships, one youth and one adult. In addition Currituck County is offering a $250 scholarship to Currituck County residents.
Selection criteria includes: activities and honors – 25 percent, connection and involvement with Cooperative Extension Service (NCCES) – 25 percent, financial need – 25 percent and scholarship potential – 25 percent.

A Pasquotank County man reported missing last week has been located, the sheriff's office said.
