Harnley honored for school board service

Bladen Harnly, a senior at Camden County High School, was presented a plaque in honor of his service as a student member of the Camden Board of Education for the past two years at the board’s May 10 meeting. As a student member, Harnly channeled information and concerns from fellow students to the board’s elected members.

Harnly is the son of school teachers Mark and Melissa Harnly of the Camden County Schools. Harnly has shown strong drive and proven leadership skills. He has excelled academically and serves as the battalion commander for the U.S. Coast Guard Junior Leadership Program where he supervises more than 80 cadets. He is a member of the National Honor Society, the Science Club and Chess Club.

He has also excelled as a student athlete, playing both basketball and soccer. He also was a member of the high school’s swim team.
