Hathaway takes part in NASA internship

Jessica Hathaway, a 5th-grade teacher at Pasquotank Elementary, participated in the NASA Langley GLOBE Partnership over the summer.
During he 10-week internship, Hathaway worked with NASA scientists, engineers and educators to incorporate STEM topics into the state curriculum standards for fifth grade.
Sawyer students lead pledge at meeting
Students from the J.C. Sawyer Deca Club led the Pledge of Allegiance for the Board of Education meeting on September 24, 2018.
District announces Principal of Year
Angela Cobb, principal of Northeastern High School, has been named the district’s 2019 Principal of the Year.
“Mrs. Cobb will represent ECPPS well as Principal of the Year,” said Joanne Sanders, the district’s acting superintendent. “This is truly an honor for principals as well as an opportunity for them to apply for recognition as Principal of the Year for the region and state. We are proud of Mrs. Cobb’s accomplishments throughout her career and celebrate this achievement with her.”
Cobb holds a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in English education from East Carolina University, and a master’s degree in school administration from Elizabeth City State University. She has 27 years of experience in education and holds certifications for principal, secondary English and Academically Intellectually Gifted.
Cobb has served ECPPS for a total of 14 years in the following positions: AIG facilitator at Elizabeth City Middle School and Pasquotank County High School, principal of Weeksville Elementary and currently as principal of Northeastern High.
