The Perquimans County High School Class of 1965 recently held its 53rd class reunion in the Outer Banks.

Members of the class held a raffle and donated all $650 proceeds to the Perquimans County Schools Foundation Inc. The money will support programs and projects underway. Class member Sid Eley presented the contribution to Foundation President Antoine Moore and Foundation Vice President Todd Kemp.

Moore expressed his appreciation, indicating the dollars would go a long way to provide opportunities to district children.

“It is important to give back -- to the world, to our communities, to our families, and to the high school that gave us a first-class education and help foster our beliefs and sense of commitment,” Moore said.

Moore also challenged others to discuss this idea with their respective graduating classes during upcoming class reunions.
