Chowan Middle students compete in Envirothon
Chowan Middle School students recently finished third in both the region and for middle schools overall in a regional Envirothon competition at Weyerhaeuser Cool Springs Environmental Center in New Bern. The students will now advance to the North Carolina Envirothon state competition on May 3-4.
The Environthon competition covers five different areas of environmental science: soil, aquatics, wildlife, forestry and current events. Each student on the team has one area of study and team members collaborate to test their knowledge of environmental sciences and resources.
