BARCO — The Currituck baseball team broke open a scoreless game in the fourth inning to cruise to an 11-1 victory over Pasquotank in six innings on Friday night.

The Knights (4-3, 1-1 Northeastern Coastal) scored six runs in the bottom of the fourth in the league contest.

Austin Capps had two hits with two RBIs, while Shane Davis collected two RBIs for Currituck.

The Knights added three in the fifth and two in the sixth to evoke the mercy rule.

On the mound, Austin Pace went five innings and recorded seven strikeouts for the win.

Will Langley pitched in the sixth and had two strikeouts.

Currituck held Pasquotank (0-3, 0-1 NCC) to two hits in the game.

Jared Weeks had an RBI in the fifth, while pitcher Ashton Felts struck out four for Pasquotank.

Up next, Pasquotank hosts Bertie on Monday, while Currituck travels to Bertie on Tuesday.

Edenton 7, Bertie 0: Chace Kelly and Nathaniel Stallings each had a hit with two RBIs to lead the Aces to the win on Friday night at Hicks Field.

Edenton (5-0, 2-0 NCC) held a 4-0 lead after the third inning in the league contest and added three more runs in the fifth.

Jaden Bobbitt went 1-for-2 with a triple, while senior Patrick Downum recorded a double with a RBI.

On the mound, Downum went five 2/3 innings and recorded four strikeouts.

Freshman Alden Cottle went 3-for-4 for Bertie (0-6, 0-1 NCC).

Perquimans 11-14, Plymouth 0-0: The Pirates swept the doubleheader against the Vikings on Friday.

The two Coastal 10 Conference games were originally scheduled for Tuesday, but were postponed to Friday.

Up next, Perquimans (9-0, 5-0 Coastal 10) hosts Columbia on Tuesday.

First Flight 11, Northeastern 2: The Nighthawks broke open a 2-2 game with three runs in the fifth inning to secure the conference win.

Braxton Hughes had three hits with four RBIs for First Flight (5-2, 2-0 NCC).

Northeastern (1-4, 0-1 NCC) had five hits in the contest.


Northeastern 5, First Flight 2: The Lady Eagles secured their first conference win on Friday at NHS.

Freshman Ashley Fowler earned the win in the circle for Northeastern (2-2, 1-0 Northeastern Coastal).

The Lady Eagles travel to Hertford County on Tuesday.

Perquimans 18-18, Plymouth 0-0: The Lady Pirates (7-1, 4-1 Coastal 10) got back on track with two Coastal 10 Conference wins against Plymouth on Friday.

Currituck 25, Pasquotank 0: Morgan Owens hit a grand slam for the Lady Knights (1-3, 1-1 NCC) in the conference matchup in Barco on Friday night.

Bertie 11, Edenton 5: The Lady Aces were unable to build off of Thursday's conference win against Currituck.

Edenton (2-2, 1-1 NCC) surrendered 10 runs in the first three innings at home on Friday night to Bertie (3-1, 1-0 NCC).

Freshman Jhasi Gilliam had three hits with two RBIs, while Alanna Parks had two hits with two RBIs for Edenton.

Roslyn Bunch and Charity Stallings had two hits each in the league contest.

Edenton takes on Riverside on the road for a non-conference game on Tuesday.


Edenton 3, Washington 2: The Lady Aces held off Washington in a non-conference match on Friday at home.

Ellie Rinehart had two goals, Malorie Gonzalez added a goal with an assist and Jessica Copeland had an assist.

Edenton improves to 3-2 on the season and returns to Northeastern Coastal Conference play on Monday at Currituck.

Northeastern 3, Cape Hatteras 1: Anne Claire Foreman had two goals, while Lizbeth Rodriguez Roman had a goal for the Lady Eagles (1-4-1) in the non-conference match.

Northeastern hosts Hertford County in a conference match on Monday.
