MOREHEAD CITY — A five-run fourth inning paced the Edenton Steamers to an 11-6 win over Morehead City on Sunday night.

Morehead City (9-9) held a 6-3 lead after three innings. The Marlins plated two runs in the first and posted a four-spot in the second.

Edenton’s fourth inning was fueled by a lead off home run by Anthony Maselli.

James Galazin followed with a two-run triple. Galazin scored on the play on an error.

The Clams (10-8) concluded their scoring in the frame on a Jason Agresti RBI single.

Edenton added two runs in the eighth and a run in the ninth.

The Clams held a 1-0 lead after 1/2 inning and a 3-2 lead after a 1 1/2 innings.

The Steamers ended the game with 13 hits.

Galazin went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run in the second inning and six RBIs in the contest.

William Robbins also went 3-for-4 for Edenton.

University of Tennessee product Eric Freeman pitched 2/3 of an inning to earn the win for the Steamers.

Marlins pitcher Heath Mitchem went 3 2/3 innings and surrendered six earned runs on seven hits. 

Mitchem was credited with the loss.
