The Northeastern boys soccer team defeated Perquimans 3-0 on Monday evening.

Jorge Pena scored two goals with an assist, while Noah Hurdle scored a goal in the home non-conference match.

“We moved the ball well possessing the ball most of the match,” Northeastern head coach Michael Ratzlaff told The Daily Advance. “Hopefully, we can continue improving in our attack in the final third.”

The NHS coach added that Jossue Molina moved from forward to center-midfield and did a great job for the Eagles in the match.

Northeastern (3-3-1) hosts Roanoke Rapids (5-0-0) on Thursday.

Perquimans drops to 5-3-0 on the season.

Camden 2, John A. Holmes 1: Kevin Robertson scored two goals as the Bruins earned the Albemarle Athletic Conference win on Monday at Edenton.

Tanner Pippen assisted on both goals, while Cody Wallingford made 15 saves for Camden (3-3-2, 1-0-0 AAC)

John A. Holmes (1-4-1, 0-1-1 AAC) hosts Hertford County today.



Camden def. John A. Holmes 25-15, 25-11, 25-19: Brooke Gurganus had 15 assists with eight aces and four digs in the win on Monday at Camden. Addie Buhl had seven digs, while Shelby Jones added eight digs in the league match.

Bianca Berry had nine kills with four assists, while Madison Lindstrom followed with seven kills for Camden (8-2, 3-1 Albemarle Athletic Conference).

Charity Stallings led John A. Holmes (2-7, 1-2 AAC) with 10 assists with two digs.

Alyssa Richardson posted nine digs, Miky'Jah White had three kills with an assist.

Kinlee Chappell added 10 digs, seven kills with an assist.



John A. Holmes 6, Currituck 3: The Lady Aces (6-2) won four of the six singles matches on Monday at Edenton.

Anna Bass (6-1, 6-2), Emily Cross (6-0, 6-4), Lilly Boyce (6-1, 6-3) and Molly Catherine White (6-3, 5-7, 0-0[10-8]) won singles matches for Edenton.

Sarah Dover (7-5, 6-0) and Heather Hennessey (6-0, 6-3) earned singles wins for Currituck (3-4).

In doubles John A. Holmes secured wins from Boyce and Sydney Morris (10-7) and White and Jessica Copeland (10-6), while Dover and Hanna Holden (10-6) won for the Lady Knights.
