Camden hoops split with Cape Hatteras

CAMDEN — JR Williams and Brock Colson scored 21 points each as the Camden boys basketball team defeated Cape Hatteras 67-27 on Wednesday at Camden County High School.

Colson, a senior, made seven 3-pointers in the non-conference contest for Camden (7-5).

The Bruins have won four consecutive games.

Williams, also a senior, added 12 rebounds, four blocks and five assists.

Tim Aydlett, a sophomore, scored 14 points, while Carlton Harrell, a sophomore, had a team-high 13 rebounds.

Anthony Cordy added six rebounds three assists and two steals.

Jackson Gay posted five rebounds, three assists and three steals.

Up next, the Bruins host Manteo in their Albemarle Athletic Conference opener today.


Cape Hatteras 45, Camden 27: Caroline Gray scored a game-high 16 points to lead the Lady Hurricanes (11-0) to the victory on Wednesday.

Taniya Swinson led Camden (2-10) with nine points, Shae Ferebee followed with seven points, while Lilly Cartwright posted a team-high five rebounds.
