Edenton's Chesson to be inducted into NC Sports Hall of Fame

Edenton native Wes Chesson will be inducted into the North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame today.
The the 55th annual induction ceremony will take place at the Raleigh Convention Center at 7 p.m.
Chesson is one of 15 inductees that will be enshrined from the Class of 2018.
Chesson played for former Duke star Jerry McGee in high school at John A. Holmes High School and then went on to Duke University himself. He was a star receiver and punter for the Blue Devils in the late 1960s. By the time he graduated, he was the leading receiver in ACC history and was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in the seventh round of the 1971 NFL Draft.
Chesson was enshrined into the Duke sports hall of fame in 2013.
The N.C. Sports Hall of Fame announced in January his selection to the hall.
