EDENTON — The Pasquotank boys soccer team continued its undefeated season Thursday evening with a 3-2 road win against John A. Holmes at Purser Field.

It was a back and forth match.

Mateo Perez scored a goal early in the game that was assisted by Chandler Walton.

Chase Perry scored two goals for Pasquotank (4-0-2) in the non-conference match.

Both were assisted by Jalen Haist, with the last one coming from a header with less than two minutes remaining in the game to take the lead.

Edenton falls to 3-4-1 on the season.

Camden 3, Northeastern 3: The Camden and Northeastern boys soccer teams played to a tie Thursday evening at Northeastern.

With the result, Northeastern is 4-2-1 on the season, while Camden is 3-2-3 overall.

Pungo Christian Academy 4, Albemarle School 0: The Colts (1-3-1, 0-3-0 TIC) suffered the loss at Pungo Christian Thursday in a league match.

The two teams meet again Tuesday in Elizabeth City.


Bertie 5, Currituck 4: The Lady Falcons edged Currituck in Northeastern Coastal Conference action on Thursday.

Currituck earned a 3-3 split in singles, with Elizabeth Hewitt, McKenna Sweeney, and Grace Waters earning victories in straight sets. But two losses in third-set tiebreaks came back to haunt the Lady Knights.

In doubles, Waters and Lilly Nekervis recorded a 10-5 victory at No. 3, but Bertie won the top two doubles contests to claim the win.

"We played hard, but all credit to Bertie," commented Currituck Vic Ramsey. "They were just a little better at crucial times."

Currituck (2-3, 1-1 NCC) will host Edenton on Monday before traveling to Northeastern on Tuesday.

First Flight 9, Northeastern 0: The Lady Nighthawks (3-0, 1-0 NCC) delivered the Lady Eagles (5-1-1, 0-1 NCC) their first loss of the season in a league match at First Flight on Thursday.

Mya Salch, Sammie Lilliston, Gray Tillett, Ashley Forbes, Hunter Haskett and Courtney Tillett won singles matches.

Salch and Forbes, Lilliston and Haskett and Gray Tillett and Allison Hudson won doubles matches for the Lady Nighthawks.

Northeastern returns to action Tuesday at Gates.


Winterville-South Central def. Currituck 25-22, 21-25, 25-16, 25-21: The Lady Knights (3-1) lost the non-conference match at home Thursday evening.

Kamryn Johnson led Currituck with 17 kills, three blocks, 15 digs and three assists, Kayleigh Reagan-Smith followed with 12 kills, 11 digs and Whitney Shilling had five kills, three aces and two blocks and 11 digs.

Faith Hughes posted 27 assists, four digs, two aces and three blocks, Laura Griffin had 19 digs, Layla Cartwright and Macy Pace posted four blocks each for Currituck.

Ali Ruffin led South Central (11-0), a Class 4A program, with 11 kills, five aces, four blocks and 12 digs.

Grace Sweers had 34 assists, eight kills, four aces and nine digs, Paris Joyner had 20 digs, while Brylee Phillips and Kayla McDuffie posted eight blocks each.

Phillips added eight kills, while McDuffie had nine kills.

Manteo def. John A. Holmes 25-27, 25-23, 25-13, 25-15: The Lady Aces (4-8, 1-3 Albemarle Athletic Conference) lost the league match at home on Thursday evening.

Manteo improves to 2-4 overall and 2-1 in the conference.
