The Elizabeth City State women's basketball team defeated Virginia University of Lynchburg 72-45 Saturday afternoon at the R.L. Vaughan Center.
Devona Stell scored 18 points with eight rebounds to pace the Lady Vikings (4-3).
Jalyn Brown followed with 14 points, Angel James scored 13 points with five rebounds and Azhante Rodgers had 10 points.
ECSU led by 27 points late in the third quarter.
Lexius Houzer led Lynchburg (2-3) with 15 points and six rebounds.
ECSU begins Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association play Monday at home against Claflin.
Mid-Atlantic Christian 79, Trinity Washington 38: The Lady Mustangs (2-3) routed the Tigers at Chesson Gym Friday night.
Kendra Campbell, Jayla Mullen and Talethia Alexander scored 12 points each in the win.
Campbell added 12 rebounds, while Baleigh Lambert posted 10 rebounds.
Alyssa King led Trinity Washington with 16 points.
North Carolina Wesleyan 86, Mid-Atlantic Christian 53: MACU (0-6) lost to the Battling Bishops at the Roger Taylor Invitational at North Carolina Wesleyan Saturday afternoon.
Garfield Brown led the Mustangs with 12 points, while Greg Bloodsworth followed with 11 points.
MACU shot 31.1 percent from the field in comparison to Wesleyan's 45.8 percent in the contest.
AJ Frye led Wesleyan (5-1) with 16 pints and eight rebounds, Robert Wilson followed with 14 points and Damon McDowell chipped in with 12 points in the win.
Southern Virginia 99, Mid-Atlantic Christian 75: The Mustangs (0-5) lost at the Roger Taylor Invitational at North Carolina Wesleyan Friday.
Freshman Greg Bloodsworth led MACU with a game-high 28 points, while Aaron Scott followed with 17 points and 10 rebounds.
Michael Neufville led Southern Virginia (2-4) with 23 points and nine rebounds.
