The Elizabeth City State women's basketball team defeated West Virginia State 106-96 Friday afternoon at the Vaughan Center.

Naterria Luster led ECSU with a game-high 36 points on 14-of-29 shooting from the field with 10 rebounds.

She also made 8-of-13 shots from the free-throw line in the win.

Jalyn Brown followed with 25 points with four assists.

DeNayia Holmes scored 13 points with 11 assists, Asia Deal had 11 points with seven assists.

ECSU (9-5) had 28 assists in the win.

Charity Shears led West Virginia State (3-9) with 30 points and made 8-of-9 shots from behind the 3-point line.

The Lady Vikings shot 45.3 percent from the field in the win.

ECSU surpassed the 100-point mark in a game for the first time this season.

The Lady Vikings return to play Monday at Saint Augustine’s.
