High School Roundup | Victory Christian basketball takes third place at tournament

The Victory Christian boys basketball team defeated Heritage 68-59 in the third-place game of the Eagles New Year’s Invitational boys’ tournament at Victory Christian Saturday.

Jonathan Rosenberger led Victory with 38 points, five rebounds and two steals, while Cameron Rosenberger followed with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Caleb Rondeau led Heritage with 27 points in the win.

Riverside 67, Camden 30: The Camden boys’ basketball team lost to Riverside Saturday evening at Riverside High School in Williamston.

Ashaun Belcher led Riverside (5-4) with 15 points, while Zyjuan Exum added 11 points in the win.

Tim Aydlett led the Bruins with nine points, while Reid Robeson followed with six points.

Camden (6-4) travels to First Flight for a game Wednesday.


Victory Christian 40, Great Hope 20: Victory Christian secured third place at the Eagles New Year’s Invitational girls’ tournament at Victory Christian Saturday.

Rachel Cote led Victory with 14 points and six rebounds, while Morgan Brock posted 13 points, three rebounds, two steals and two assists in the win.

Emma Thome led Great Hope with 12 points.

Riverside 51, Camden 35: The Lady Bruins (3-7) lost the non-conference game at Riverside Saturday.

Riverside improved to 7-3 on the season.
