The Albemarle School boys basketball team defeated Mattamuskeet 62-53 Monday evening at Albemarle School in a non-conference game.

Albemarle School improves to 8-5 on the season.

First Flight 67, Northeastern 65: The Nighthawks (6-6, 1-0 Northeastern Coastal Conference) secured the league win at Northeastern Monday night.

The win for First Flight was the first against Northeastern since February 17, 2009.

Dylan Blake led First Flight with a game-high 30 points with eight made shots from behind the 3-point line.

Jordan High followed with 16 points and Reese Jones posted 10 points in the win.

Deandre Proctor led Northeastern (1-5, 0-1 NCC) with 18 points and three assists, Da'Quan Dunton had 17 points and seven rebounds, and Jahri Leigh posted 13 points and seven rebounds.


First Flight 60, Northeastern 29: The Lady Eagles (1-9, 0-1 Northeastern Coastal Conference) lost their league opener at home Monday.

Nakiyah Arnold led Northeastern with 10 points, eight rebounds and two steals, Amiah Freshwater had 10 rebounds.


Johnson and Wales-Charlotte 80, Mid-Atlantic Christian 64: The Mustangs (1-11, 0-3 EMAC) lost the Eastern Metro Athletic Conference game at Chesson Gym Monday night.

The Wildcats improved to 6-8 overall and 4-0 in the conference.
