BOWIE, Md. — The Elizabeth City State women's basketball team lost to Bowie State 70-53 Saturday afternoon at Bowie State University.
Naterria Luster led ECSU with 23 points and six rebounds, while Jalyn Brown followed with 16 points.
ECSU struggled to keep possession of the ball as it committed 28 turnovers.
The Lady Vikings (13-10, 5-7 CIAA) did not have a good game shooting from the field in the conference game as they finished shooting 38.9 percent (21-of-54) from the field.
Their offensive struggles included a 10-point third-quarter output.
Kyaja Williams led Bowie State (17-4, 9-3 CIAA) with 20 points and nine rebounds, while Dynaisha Christian followed with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
The Lady Bulldogs shot 45.3 percent (29-of-64) from the field and scored 35 points off of ECSU's turnovers.
Bowie State led by 23 points in the second half.
Warren Wilson 85, Mid-Atlantic Christian 70: The Mustangs (2-18, 1-7 Eastern Metro Athletic Conference) lost the EMAC game at Warren Wilson Saturday afternoon.
Malik Galloway led MACU with 23 points and 14 rebounds, while Khalil Bolden and Alex Stanley scored 13 points each.
Stanley added 15 rebounds for MACU.
Jordan Gant led Warren Wilson (8-15, 3-3 EMAC) with 24 points and seven rebounds. Trey Brown followed with 15 points and Brent Davis posted 13 points in the win.
Bowie State 88, Elizabeth City State 87, 2 OTs: The Vikings (11-12, 7-5 CIAA) lost the CIAA Northern Division game in double overtime Saturday evening at Bowie State.
ECSU held an 87-81 lead with less than two minutes remaining in the second overtime, but could not score the rest of the way.
Bowie State (13-10, 9-3 CIAA) scored seven consecutive points, which included the game-winning basket by Saiquan Jamison with less than five seconds remaining in the game.
ECSU’s last-second shot was off the mark.
Omar Roberts led the Vikings with 18 points, five rebounds, five assists and four steals, Justin Faison followed with 15 points and five rebounds, Tyjhai Byers had 14 points, nine rebounds and five blocks, Aujameq Daniels had 12 points and Shyheid Petteway scored 11 points for ECSU.
David Belle paced Bowie State with 24 points and five rebounds, Cameron Hayes followed with 16 points and Juwan Smith had 15 points in the win for the Bulldogs.
