Currituck, John A. Holmes, Northeastern and Pasquotank will send wrestlers to compete at the North Carolina High School Athletic Association individual wrestling regional tournaments today.

Currituck, Northeastern and Pasquotank will compete at the Class 2A tournament at Croatan High School in Newport, while John A. Holmes will wrestle at Rosewood High School in Goldsboro.

At the Class 2A tournament, Currituck will send its entire team to compete.

The Knights, which secured a share of the Northeastern Coastal Conference tournament crown with Northeastern this winter, features Andrew Noser (106 pounds), Samuel Hodge (113 pounds), Hunter Forehand (120 pounds), Noah Walker (126 pounds), Tyler Sunderlin (132 pounds), Robbie Sanders (138 pounds), Michael Culpepper (145 pounds), Cole Hampton (152 pounds), Trent Walker (160 pounds), Mark Dutton (170 pounds), Aiden Herring (182 pounds), Shawn Maynard (195 pounds) and Keegan Lassiter (220 pounds).

Northeastern will send Scott Marazoff (126 pounds), Braxton Tucker (132 pounds), Jonathan Ward (138 pounds), Isaiah Cartwright (152 pounds), Jamison Fletcher (170 pounds), Tristen Barr (182 pounds), Raven Atkins (220 pounds) and Amir Payton-Kimble (285 pounds) to the regional.

Ward is the defending regional champion at 138 pounds.

Pasquotank's Travis Douglas (106 pounds), Scott Kresicki (120 pounds), Carlos Cardenas (145 pounds), Thong Tran (152 pounds), Cody Douglas (170 pounds), Kobe Keller (182 pounds) and Devin Alcorn (220 pounds) will represent the Panthers at the regional.

Edenton, the Albemarle Athletic Conference champion, will send Riddick White (113 pounds), Aaron Jones (120 pounds), Chase Ward (126 pounds), Alex Bergevin (132 pounds), Jordan Huerta (138 pounds), Jonathan Salinas (145 pounds) and Tyrese McClease (220 pounds) to the Class 1A competition.

The final rounds of both regionals will be held Saturday.


Williamston-Riverside 49, Pasquotank 31: The Panthers (5-15) lost the non-conference game at home Wednesday night.

Ben Beach led Riverside (13-7) with 16 points.


Williamston-Riverside 45, Pasquotank 22: Pasquotank (4-15) lost the contest Wednesday evening.

Demetria Bland led Riverside (15-5) with 27 points.

Pasquotank travels to Bertie for a conference game today.
