HERTFORD — The Camden boys’ basketball team lost to Washington County 64-37 Wednesday night in the semifinal round of the Albemarle Athletic Conference boys’ basketball tournament at Perquimans County High School.
No. 4 seed Camden (12-14) was led offensively by Tim Aydlett, who scored 10 points, two rebounds and a steal, Reid Robeson and Carlton Harrell followed with six points each.
Washington County (22-0) advances to today’s conference championship game at Perquimans at 7:30 p.m.
De’Andre Downing led the No. 1 seed Panthers with 22 points and six assists, Quymel Chesson followed with 13 points and five assists, while Clantrez Taylor had 10 points and 12 rebounds in the win.
First Flight 82, Bertie 61: The Nighthawks secured the win in the semifinal round of the Northeastern Coastal Conference boys’ basketball tournament Wednesday at Hertford County High School.
First Flight (17-8) was led offensively by Jordan High and his 32 points, Reese Jones followed with 19 points.
No. 3 seed Bertie falls to 15-11 on the season.
The No. 2 seed Nighthawks made 15 shots from behind the 3-point line in the win and advanced to their first conference tournament championship game in program history.
First Flight will face No. 1 seed Hertford County in the conference championship game today at Northeastern High School at 8 p.m.
Hertford County 65, Currituck 39: The Knights (9-17) lost in the semifinal round of Northeastern Coastal Conference boys’ basketball tournament Wednesday at Hertford County High School.
Daylan Askew led Hertford County (16-9) with 16 points and three steals in the victory.
Bertie 67, Pasquotank 49: The No. 5 seed Lady Panthers (6-18) lost in the semifinal round of the Northeastern Coastal Conference girls’ basketball tournament Wednesday at Hertford County High School.
No. 1 seed Bertie (22-2) was led by Akyia King and her 32 points and five steals, while Dawaunti Combs followed with 10 points.
Bertie advances to today’s championship game and will face No. 2 seed Hertford County (12-12) at 6:30 p.m.
Hertford County defeated No. 3 First Flight 64-57 in its semifinal game Wednesday.
Manteo 62, Washington County 51: No. 4 seed Manteo (13-6) upset No. 1 seed Washington County Wednesday in the semifinal of the Albemarle Athletic Conference girls’ basketball tournament at Perquimans County High School Wednesday.
The Lady Redskins will play for the conference championship today at 6 p.m. at Perquimans.
