The Elizabeth City State softball team lost its final two games of the regular season Wednesday in Elizabeth City.

Mount Olive defeated ECSU 10-1 in Game 1 in five innings and 12-0 in Game 2 in six innings.

ECSU’s Alyssa Griffin had a RBI single in the bottom of the fifth inning in Game 1.

Mount Olive’s Alexis Oliver posted a RBI single in the third inning of Game 2 for the Trojans (33-17).

Griffin and Oliver both played high school softball at John A. Holmes in Edenton as teammates.

ECSU ends the regular season with a 12-18 overall record.


ECSU’s Cheyan Brassuer and Stephanie Komives were named a Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association Softball Players of the Week.

Brassuer earned co-offensive player of the week honors with Chowan’s Haley Cooper.

Cooper, a senior, played her high school softball at Perquimans County High School.

Komives was named defensive player of the week.
