The Edenton All-Stars under-10 softball team will play for a chance to win a Tarheel Leagues state championship today.

The Edenton All-Stars defeated the Wilkes County All-Stars 11-1 Saturday afternoon to advance to today's final against Wilkes County.

Wilkes County advanced from the one-loss bracket Saturday afternoon with a 12-0 win against Watauga County to clinch a berth into the championship final.

En route to the championship final, the Edenton All-Stars defeated Watauga County All-Stars 9-0 in its opening game of the tournament Thursday and defeated the Shelby All-Stars 10-0 Friday morning.

The Wilkes County All-Stars had a bye into the second round of the tournament and defeated the Currituck County All-Stars 12-2 Friday morning.

The final is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. at Currituck Community Park.

The other area team remaining in one of the four tournaments lost on Saturday.

The Camden County All-Stars under-12 team lost to Johnston County East All-Stars 12-6 Saturday afternoon at Camden Community Park.

With a 2-2 record in the double-elimination tournament, the Camden All-Stars finished fourth overall in the 12U tournament.

The Camden All-Stars lost its opening game of the tournament to Johnston County East 4-2 Thursday, but in the one-loss bracket defeated the Erwin All-Stars 20-2 Friday morning and Ashe County All-Stars 17-4 Friday afternoon at Currituck Community Park.

The Johnston County East All-Stars will face the Shelby All-Stars for the 12U championship today at Currituck Community Park at 9 a.m.

The Wendell All-Stars will face Wilkes County All-Stars for the under-8 state championship today at 9 a.m. at Currituck Community Park.

One championship was decided Saturday afternoon at Camden Community Park as the Cashie All-Stars defeated the Western Harnett All-Stars for the under-15 division tournament state championship.

Camden and Currituck counties were the hosts of the Tarheel Leagues softball state championships this weekend.

Along with Edenton and Camden, Currituck had two teams competing in the tournaments this week.
