ECSU's football home opener against Allen University postponed

Because of the threat of Hurricane Dorian, the Elizabeth City State football game against Allen University scheduled for Saturday was postponed Wednesday evening.
The contest was moved to Friday, Nov. 15.
The matchup was scheduled to be played Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Roebuck Stadium, but Hurricane Dorian is expected to impact eastern North Carolina beginning late Thursday and into today.
ECSU canceled classes for students starting Wednesday through today.
The university also issued a mandatory evacuation of residence halls Wednesday.
Allen University, an NAIA program located in Columbia, South Carolina, was set to begin its season against the Vikings.
The Yellowjackets' season opener will be Saturday, Sept. 14 at home against Clark Atlanta University.
ECSU (0-1) began its season with a 65-7 loss at Hampton University Saturday, Aug. 31.
The Vikings' next scheduled game is Saturday, Sept. 14 in Salisbury against Livingstone College at 1 p.m.
Although both teams are members of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association, the game is designated as a non-conference matchup.
