RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — Authorities have charged 13 people following an alcohol-related crash that killed a North Carolina teen.

Eighteen-year-old William Lee Tippett of Garner died Feb. 16 in a single-car wreck in Johnston County. Bryan Davis Gilmore of Smithfield, the 17-year-old driver, faces charges including felony death by vehicle and driving while impaired.

The state Alcohol Law Enforcement Division said Thursday charges have been filed against a dozen others, including 21-year-old Carl Jerome Watson. Watson is accused of 16 counts of aiding and abetting under-aged teens by buying more than 60 malt beverages the night of the crash.

The 11 others cited are all youths 18 and under and face an array of charges including possessing alcohol and marijuana.

It wasn't known if those charged had attorneys. They're expected in court in May.
