HENDERSONVILLE — Two Hendersonville sisters have been charged with neglecting six horses, including one that had to be euthanized
The Henderson County Sheriff's Office said Thursday that 24-year-old Laci Michelle Haynes and 35-year-old Sarah Haynes Bumgarner are charged with misdemeanor animal cruelty.
Sheriff's deputies say the women failed to provide adequate food and water for the horses.
The sheriff's office says the women were warned on Feb. 14. Deputies responding to another complaint on Feb. 25 called in a veterinarian and then seized the horses.
The women are to appear in court March 28. It was not clear if they have attorneys.
