MARSHALL — A Madison County woman has been arrested and charged with murder in the death of her infant daughter.

Sheriff Buddy Harwood said 25-year-old Brandi Rae Cochran was charged early Sunday.

Harwood says 6-month-old Kali Cochran died Friday night from brain injuries. Investigators think the injuries happened Tuesday night at Brandi Cochran's home near Hot Springs.

Deputies say the woman called 911 Wednesday night and said her daughter was having trouble breathing. The girl was flown to the Johnson City Medical Center in Tennessee.

She was then flown to East Tennessee Children's Hospital in Knoxville, Tenn., where she died.

Cochran was being held at the Madison County jail. It was not clear if she has an attorney.
