BEULAVILLE, N.C. (AP) — Police continue to investigate a shooting death in a small Duplin County town.
Fifty-two-year-old Max Alan Turner has been charged with murder in the shooting death of another man in Beulaville on Tuesday night.
Investigators say Jamie Fountain was shot behind a bank about a block from the police station.
Police are saying very little about the shooting.
Town manager Scotty Summerlin says neither Turner nor Fountain lived in Beulaville. Summerlin says the killing is the first in the town in nearly five years.
It was not clear if Turner has an attorney.
