HIGH POINT — A High Point man has pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter in the death of his step-daughter.

James Bovill III entered the plea Thursday in the Jan. 7 death of Tryonna English.

Police say the girl was playing in the driveway at home when an SUV backed over her. She died the next day at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.

Bovill must serve 10 weekends in jail and perform community service under the suspended sentence he received.
